Why I Built Palms to Pines Real Estate

By Ashleigh McGlothlin, Broker & Owner of Palms to Pines Real Estate

Flashback to the winter of 2025 — I was on the phone with a fellow agent from South Florida who needed to refer a client looking to sell vacant land in Sunny Hills. I remember her words clearly:“I don’t even know where that is. Do you cover that area?”

Without hesitation, I smiled and said, “Of course I do! I actually own some land in Chipley myself. I love the quiet, laid-back feel — and it’s just a short drive from anything I need.”

That conversation stuck with me. It reminded me how often our corner of the Florida Panhandle is overlooked — from the beaches to the backroads, from Bay County to the Alabama state line. Sure, most people have heard of Panama City Beach (thank you, MTV), but so many don’t realize there’s an entire network of tight-knit communities that support and surround those white, sandy beaches.

When it comes to real estate, unless you're from here, you're probably not searching for a peaceful homestead tucked into the outskirts of Bay County... or a hidden gem in Washington or Holmes County... or a historic beauty in Jackson County. But those places? They’ve always held my heart. And there’s nothing more fulfilling than helping buyers discover them — or helping local sellers realize their home’s full value in markets that are too often underestimated.

Featuring a Washington County homestead we represented both parties on.

So when the time came to build a brand of my own — one rooted in the values I care most about — I leaned into the very thing that fuels my work: community, connection, and creativity. I’ll admit: creativity isn’t always my strong suit when it comes to naming things. So, I did what any modern businesswoman would do — I brought in a little AI assistance. (Yes, really!)

I spent months teaching the system who I am — as a person, a Realtor®, and a leader. I told it about the clients I serve, the areas I love, and, eventually, the kind of brokerage I wanted to build. It offered me name ideas. Some made me laugh, others made me think. And a few made me pause.

One of them stood out. With a little tweaking and a lot of heart, Palms to Pines Real Estate was born.

This name captures it all — the palm trees swaying over the Emerald Coast, the pine forests standing tall (and making a comeback) in our northern counties, and every neighbor in between. My hope is that this small, local brokerage will make a big impact in meaningful ways. That our clients will feel seen, heard, and cared for. That every interaction — whether it’s buying your first home, your 10th investment property, or selling the family farm — will feel personal, thoughtful, and honest. Because around here, we believe in doing business like neighbors do.

We’ll always have your back —
From the Waves to the Woods.
